Welcome & Bienvenue Oscar!

12 Apr

Last saturday, we went for a walk in centennial park with Isabelle to give some bread to the ducks, a great family moment! However contractions started on the walk back around 6:30pm. At 7:30pm, we put Isabelle to bed as usual, but contractions started to be very regular by then (every 3 minutes for a minute). Ross was very relaxed though and put a steak on the BBQ! He had been preparing a nice meal for the 2 of us. We called the hospital who advised us to come over as soon as possible as second babies deliveries can go really fast! Soour friend hurried to our place to mind fast asleep Isabelle and Ross ended up eating his steak and gratin dauphinois very quickly (not me as was in contraction mode) before we rushed to hospital. They gave me an epidural around 930pm, but as soon as I lay down, Oscar decided to arrive, and was born at 10:25pm. It all went really quickly and we are thrilled, look at this handsome little boy:

Isabelle came to visit him at hospital in the morning and she has been adorable with him since! Giving him kisses, cuddles and even offering her comforter ‘Babar’ when he cried.

She also got a present: a red scooter! When she opened it she said “ma velo” which (sort of) means my bicycle in French and loves it!! So far, she only stands on it and Ross pushes her but she will work it out!

Oscar even had an article in the French newspaper of my local town, he is so famous!
